APC Chieftain Petitions Police Over Alleged Vandalisation of Campaign Billboards

An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Ondo East and West Federal Constituency, Otunba Bola Fisayo, has petitioned the Nigeria Police Force over the alleged vandalisation of billboards erected to mobilise support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other APC candidates ahead of the forthcoming general elections.

In the petition submitted through his counsel to the Area Commander of the Nigeria Police Force, Ondo Area Command, Fisayo alleged that more than 50 billboards mounted across the federal constituency had been vandalised.

He called on the police to investigate the incidents and take appropriate action if those responsible are identified.

Fisayo, who previously contested for the APC House of Representatives ticket, said that despite losing the party's primary election, he remained committed to the party and had continued to support its activities.

According to him, his decision to remain actively involved in the party's mobilisation efforts led him to return to Nigeria, where he said he had been participating in activities aimed at strengthening the APC ahead of the forthcoming elections.

He said the alleged vandalisation of the billboards would not discourage him from supporting the party and its candidates.

Fisayo also urged security agencies to ensure the protection of lives and property during the electioneering period, while calling on political actors and their supporters to maintain peace and uphold the rule of law.

He appealed to the police to conduct a thorough investigation into the alleged incidents and ensure that any person found responsible is dealt with in accordance with the law.

The APC chieftain further called on supporters of all political parties to embrace peaceful political engagement and avoid actions capable of creating tension in the constituency ahead of the elections.

Court Cautions Police, Orders Proper Invitation of Hammed Tajudeen Akanbi

A Lagos State Magistrate Court has cautioned the Lagos State Police Command and directed that proper procedures be followed in the handling of the case involving Mr. Hammed Tajudeen Akanbi, also known as Hammed Ajiran, in what is seen as a setback for individuals including Bashir Fakorede, Jide Akinloye, and Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG Jimoh Moshood. Presiding over proceedings in the Ogba Magisterial District, Magistrate A. J. Odueke, in Charge No: MISC/126/2026, held that the police must formally invite Akanbi rather than declare him wanted.
