Ajiran Youths Insists AiG Jimoh Is Compromising, Demand Independent Probe into Murder Cases

A group of youths from the Ajiran community in Eti-Osa Local Government Area of Lagos State has insisted that Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG), Moshood Jimoh, is compromising the investigation into the murder of two community members, alleging that his handling of the case has undermined public confidence in the justice process.

Addressing journalists in Lagos, Lanre Adebayo and isreal Oluwatoyin, who spoke on behalf of the group alleged that the AIG had failed to conduct an impartial investigation into the killings, insisting that his actions had raised serious concerns about transparency and accountability.

The youths claimed that rather than ensuring a fair and comprehensive investigation, the police authorities under Jimoh's supervision had allegedly ignored critical evidence and pursued what they described as a selective approach to the cases.

According to the group, the murder case has generated widespread anxiety within the Ajiran community, with residents demanding justice for the victims and a credible investigation free from external influence.

"We can no longer remain silent while the integrity of this investigation continues to be questioned. The handling of this case has eroded public trust and created the impression that powerful interests are influencing the course of justice," a spokesperson for the group said.

They called on the Inspector-General of Police and the Police Service Commission to immediately review the conduct of the investigation and constitute an independent panel to examine the circumstances surrounding the murder case.

The youths also appealed to the Federal Government and relevant human rights bodies to monitor the investigation to ensure that justice is served without fear or favour.

They maintained that their demand was not intended to undermine the Nigeria Police Force but to restore confidence in the criminal justice system by ensuring that every suspect is investigated and prosecuted strictly based on credible evidence.

The group further warned that any attempt to suppress legitimate concerns over the investigation could heighten tensions in the community, urging authorities to act swiftly in the interest of justice and peace.

The allegations come amid sustained public interest in the Ajiran murder case, which has attracted divergent reactions from civil society groups and community stakeholders.

The group declare support for VeryDarkMan efforts in trying to unmask the conspiracy of the police under AIG Jimoh.

It recalled that VeryDarkMan had publicly accused AIG Jimoh of being “extremely corrupt” and “a threat to the justice system,” daring him to sue for criminal defamation if the claims were false.
