Rep Member With A Midas Touch: Why Ado-Odo/Ota Constituents Want Jimoh Ojugbele In 2023






Having a politician like Hon. Jimoh Olushola Ojugbele as the representative of Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives is seen by the people of the area as one of the best things to have happened to them since the current political dispensation started in 1999.


Ojugbele, who has been returned to the lower chamber severally due to his Midas touch has continued to prove his mettle as the best man for the job over the years.


Reports indicated that Ojugbele has been able to attract development to Ado-Odo/Ota in various ways, especially in the current dispensation that he started in 2019 under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).


It was gathered that his people-oriented projects cover several areas of human endeavours.


The astute politician was said to have provided modern boreholes with befitting generators in Igbesa, Ado-Odo, Ilogbo, Abule Iroko, Onifade – Itele and Agbara.


On construction/building projects, he was said to have constructed blocks of classrooms in primary and tertiary schools, including a block of Three (3) Classrooms at Araromi Orita-Atan Ota, a block of 3 Classrooms at Odan Ejila, a single floor of 7 Classrooms at Agbara, and a single floor of 7 Classrooms at Igbesa (Male Comprehensive College, Igbesa)


Others are a block of 3 Classrooms at Igbesa High School, Igbesa, a block of 3 Classrooms at St. Michael Primary School, Ota and blocks of three (3) classrooms at Konifewo, Ilogbo.



Ojugbele also provided and energised 500KVA transformers at Temidire, Sango Ota, behind Onipanu Police Station, Abebi, Ota, Alishiba, Sango Ota, Onibuku ,Ota, Otun Ota, Ewupe Community, Ota and Ado-Odo Community.



He embarked on the construction of state-of-the-art, modern police station at Igbesa.



On skill acquisition/training/empowerment, these were said to have manifested in Digital/Social Media marketing training programmes for over 100 youths, training and empowerment of over 200 constituents in poultry with cash, materials and tools, fishery with cash, materials and tools.


The lawmaker erected over 1000 Solar Lights across the length and breadth of Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency.


He empowered 200 women with N50,000 each to boost their businesses tagged; “Owo Okowo Ojugbele," and provided fertilizers and farming tools for over 100 farmers.


He gave back to school cash supports for 200 students in higher institutions, and disbursed N20,000 each Federal Government Social Fund for 200 constituents.


So far, the people’s rep has provided federal jobs for some youths as follows: two (2) Senior Police officers, two (2) Police Recruits, two (2) Federal Fire Service Officers and two (2) Senior Immigration Officers.


Others are four (4) Federal Civil Defense Corps, two (2) Senior Customs Officer, and eight (8) Senior Federal Government Civil Service Officers


He gave Scholarship/Grants for students of Ado-Odo /Ota Federal Constituency in tertiary institutions.


The politician constantly gives financial support to citizens of Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency in dire needs of monetary assistance in the area of health, education and other emergency challenges.


Ojugbele has sponsored motions for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of Lagos-Sango-Abeokuta Motor Expressway and rehabilitation/reconstruction of Atan-Lusada-Agbara road.


He initiated a bill on the excesses of officers and men of the Nigeria Customs in relations to killing and maiming of innocent citizens under the guise of confiscating illegal and banned imported products, especially rice within Ado-Odo/Ota  Federal Constituency.
