CSOs Threaten Legal Action Against Oyetola Over Alleged Plans to Disrupt Peace in Osun State

The Coalition of Civil Society Organizations for Good Governance (CCSOGG) has issued a stern warning against former Osun State Governor and current Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, alleging that he is orchestrating a plan to lead hoodlums and compromised security agents in a forceful takeover of Local Government Area Secretariats across the state. In a press statement released today and signed by Olalekan Johnson, CCSOGG expressed deep concerns over reports that Oyetola intends to disrupt the peace and stability enjoyed by residents of Osun State under the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke. The organization claims that Oyetola's actions are purportedly being justified by a non-existent ruling from the Court of Appeal that allegedly reinstated former local government chairmen from the All Progressives Congress (APC). “This brazen plan to use non-state actors to unleash violence and intimidate law-abiding citizens is not only illegal but also a de...

Citizens Call On NNPCL Leadership, Kyari To Open Up On Fuel Importation, Subsidy Payments After Fixing Refineries

The Concerned Citizens of Nigeria have called on the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and its Group CEO, Mele Kyari, to provide full transparency on fuel importation and alleged subsidy payments, despite the recent fixing of local refineries. Addressing journalists in Abuja on Tuesday, the group’s National Coordinator, Okwa Dan, condemned the continued importation of fuel while Dangote Refinery is producing and exporting refined petroleum. He questioned why NNPCL plans to import one million tons of fuel in February, despite local refining capacity. The group also raised concerns over disguised subsidy payments, despite the official removal of subsidies by the Tinubu administration. The Concerned Citizens accused NNPCL of economic sabotage, questioning why it prioritizes foreign refiners over local production. They urged the government to buy from Dangote Refinery to save forex, strengthen the local economy, and reduce inflationary pressure instead of weakening the Na...

Kabir Bichi And His Rare Political Philosophy

By Ali Ibrahim Audu If there is any leader existing today with such attributes of selflessness, any one that is profoundly selfless and self-sacrificing as Sir Ahmadu Bello of Blessed memory, that person is definitely Hon. Abubakar Kabir Bichi Abubakar. Hon. Abubakar, to mention the least, has an ingrained selflessness, the type that was only exhibited by Sir Ahmadu Bello of blessed memory. None has been able to either imbibe or exhibit such quality after the departure from this world of the late Sage of Northern Nigeria, except this outstanding Parliamentarian. To Hon. Kabir Bichi committing to the needs of others by demonstrating personal sacrifice is synonymous to good governance, coupled with effective and efficient legislative representation. His political jurisdiction encompasses the entire country and his legacy of excellence, stretches far beyond the continent, exhibiting fresh and original humanism and godlike attributes. For instance, as the Chairman, House Committee on Works...

Between Rotimi Amaechi And Judas Iscariot, Who Will Sell Jesus Again?

By Richard Onazi    Chibuike Rotimi the son of Amaechi is not a very happy man. He is queasy and beating about the bush. He is always unsure of his direction, always afraid of his destiny. He has failed in his usual vocation, committing political self-distraught this time, so he is an extremely very sad man.   Rotimi want to be heard once more, unfortunately, this time, he is no longer talking, he has lost his composure, and his followership and his political game is over.   This game he has been playing did not start from today. It is just that few people noticed, but those that noticed refused to do anything about it, but paid dearly for it.    Rotimi has been a betrayer all his life, he even betrayed his parents while in the womb. He is not just chronic but ardent, sophisticated and born-with-it betrayer.   It is said, and it is true, that Amaechi has a pathological attachment to betraying people. A senile attachment, a memory repression, dis...

Afenifere Youths has expressed concern over massive importation of fuel by the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) despite the repair of Port Harcourt and Warri Refineries. Speaking at a press conference in Lagos on Monday, the convener of the group, Isijola Shola, said the NNPCL, despite its claim of having bounced back, has continued to import refined petroleum products.  It said: "As a refresher, NNPCL promised Nigerians that the perennial petrol queues that brought the country to its knees in the past would become a thing of the past but has failed to fulfill the promise.  "It premised this assurance on the maintenance it was carrying out on the four publicly owned refineries.  "Nigerians believed these promises in the expectation that they came from the leadership of what should have been a world-class organisation populated by persons of honour.  "These expectations were shattered. NNPC did not meet up with the timeframes it gave Nigerians e...
