Lagos Guber: PDP Condemns Rate Of Violence, Killings, Ballot Boxes Snatching

The Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has condemned the spate of violence and attacks that trailed the Governorship/State House of Assembly Elections. The party in a statement signed by its spokesman, Hakeem Amode, said party agents and members witnessed violence and attacks in many areas of the state including Apapa, Ajegunle, Okota, Isolo, Oshodi, and others areas. It said, "This is quite unbecoming of a state as metropolitan as Lagos, where things are expected to be done in conformity with democratic norms. "We found it appalling that hoodlums, many of whom are said to be working for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), were behind the violence that was witnessed at several polling units across the state, which disrupted the electoral process. "This is quite surprising as the APC is a signatory to the peace accord that preceded the election.  "One wonders why the APC and its agents resorted to violence despite the claims that they h...

I Have Better Plans For Lagos As Governor-Jandor

The Governorship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran aka Jandor has urged the residents of the state to vote for him in the Saturday March 18, 2023 election, saying that he would give the state a breath of fresh air. Jandor, who said that he has not stepped down for the candidate of any other political party, added that his government would turn the state around if he is elected into office. Speaking at a press conference in his office on Thursday, Jandor stated that no candidate of the party has ever campaigned the way he has campaigned in the last few months. "Lagos PDP is not in alliance with any political party, all Nigerians should vote for the PDP in the election. The rumour in come quarters that I stepped down for the candidate of another party is a false. "We are not in alliance with any political party. As the candidate of the party, I am not stepping down for anybody. No candidate has ever worked the way w...

BEING PRESS BRIEFING BY HON SOLA OSOLANA, PDP CANDIDATE FOR HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, AGEGE FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY IN THE 25TH FEBRUARY, 2023; GENERAL ELECTION ON THE DELIBERATE ACT OF COMPROMISE BY INEC AND ITS OFFICIALS AFFECTING THE LAWFUL CONDUCT OF THE PRESIDENTIAL/NATIONAL ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS

Chief Obafemi Awolowo once said,  "After rain comes sunshine; After darkness comes the glorious dawn. There is no sorrow without its alloy of joy; there is no joy without its admixture of sorrow." It is on this note that I welcome you all to this press briefing.  I wish to specially thank all my teeming supporters, sympathisers and followers for the trust reposed in me by trooping out to cast their vote for me on the 25th February, 2023. Although the INEC deliberately compromised the process and awarded pyrrhic victory to the candidate of the ruling party, we are positive of reclaiming our stolen mandate in the course of time. INEC, the official umpire has compromised her integrity by not complying with the provisions of the electoral act as stipulated in the guidelines released by the commission on the procedure of voting in the election. The pattern adopted during the last Saturday Presidential and National Assembly elections on the 25th February, 2023; was deliberately sch...

BEING FULL TEXT OF SPEECH DELIVERED BY PROFESSOR CHRISTOPHER IMUMOLEN TO CONGRATULATE ASIWAJU BOLA AHMED TINUBU AS NIGERIA'S NEWLY ELECTED PRESIDENT ON THIS DAY OF MARCH 2, 2023

My name is Professor Christopher Imumolen who ran on the platform of the Accord party in the just concluded presidential elections. First, let me congratulate all Nigerians for the passion and patriotism that inspired their participation in last Saturday's general elections. Their level of awareness and involvement in the electoral process was a clear sign that they understood the enormous powers they wield in deciding the outcomes of such polls, and by extension, the candidates upon whom they ultimately entrust their collective destinies. I am in no doubt that this newfound awareness will inform their commitment to future elections, and set the foundation for a more virile, stable and prosperous nation. Starting with the governorship and state houses of assembly elections still to come on March 11, I wish to enjoin all voters, and indeed all Nigerians, to maintain the same manner of sportsmanliness, calm and decorum that defined their engagements in Saturday's elections. In th...
