Professor Chiluwa Seeks Usage of Language for Peace Building At 23rd Inaugural Lecture

A professor of English (Discourse Analysis and Media/Digital Communications), Innocent Chiluwa, has recommended that, people imbued with the power of words should adopt an approach that positions them as builders by the words they speak as they can transform the society by consciously and deliberately engaging in the discourses of peace. Professor Chiluwa, who is the Head, Department of Languages and General Studies, Covenant University, gave the admonition on Friday, March 26, while delivering the 23rd Inaugural Lecture of the University titled ‘Language in Conflict and Peace: Representation of Identities and Interests in the Media and the Internet’. Lagos PASAN Begins Strike Over Non-Implementation of Financial Autonomy

The Lagos State House of Assembly chapter of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN) has declared an indefinite strike over the non-implementation of legislative financial autonomy. It was revealed that the chapter would hold a preparatory Congress on Tuesday March 23, 2021 to boost it's preparedness and to have more information on what prompted the strike. These were contained in a statement signed by the Chairman of the chapter, Comrade (Prince) Adele Adewale Taofiq and made available to journalists. ITF: Your Allegations Of Nepotism, Marginalisation Against Ari Baseless – Group Tells MURIC

The Coalition for Good Governance and Rule of Law has reacted to the allegations of nepotism and marginalization in the Industrial Training Fund by the Muslims Rights Concern (MURIC).    MURIC had called for an immediate investigation of the Director-General of the ITF, Mr Joseph N. Jumoke Okoya-Thomas Wants Better Opportunities For Women As The World Marks International Women's Day

As the world marks the International Women's Day Celebration on Monday March 8, 2021, the Women Leader of the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Jumoke Okoya-Thomas is seeking better opportunities for the women. In a statement released by her media office, which she personally signed, Hon.
