Gbenga Daniel Must Lead Us To APC -Waliu Taiwo

A former commissioner under a former governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel aka OGD and former Director General of the Ladi Adebutu Governorship Campaign Organization under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Hon. Waliu Taiwo has declared that OGD must lead his supporters to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Waliu Taiwo spoke against the backdrop of the decision of OGD to resign from active politics in an exclusive interview recently. Why was Ladi Adebutu was not fielded by the PDP as its governorship candidate in Ogun State for the 2019 elections? The issue had been on for about three years now. The same thing happened in 2011 and it happened in 2015, and this denied a lot of us the opportunity to be in Government. That was why we went to the PPN in 2011 with Otunba Gbenga Daniel, when the PDP did not approve our preferred governorship candidate then, Gboyega Nasir Isiaka aka GNI, who was from Ogun West. Concerning the candidature ...

United Kingdom Chapter of Arise Nigeria, a group of Nigerians in the diaspora, has reacted to the recent report by the United State through its State Department’s Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labour under the title “Country Reports on Human Rights Practices for 2018.” which accused the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government of abating corruption and extra-judicial killing. Bayelsa Judicial Commission of inquiry should be disbanded----- Observer Group

Our attention has been drawn to a fanthom judicial commission of enquiry sitting in Bayelsa state at the instant of the state government with a mandate to look into the purported violence that characterised the recent elections in the state.  As an Observer group which monitored the Presidential, National Assembly and state house of assembly elections in Bayelsa State, we wish to state that this panel is an abuse of executive privilege in an attempt to cover up the role of the state government as led by Governor Seriake Dickson as regards the violence that was visited on the people during the polls.  As an observer group, we had men and women who were deployed to all the local governments of Bayelsa state and reports gathered which form our position shows the violence of the election day was masterminded by the instrument of the state in connivance with the police using the power of incumbency to force the will of the people in her favour.  Governor Dic...
